Introduction
This User Manual and Operation Instructions document describes the required information regarding the Customer’s operating and maintenance of the CRANEVIEW™ device for devices with capacity of 20T, 45T, 55T. This document aims to introduce the Customer and its authorized users to “How To…” procedures and provide information intended to permit an authorized user to install, operate, and maintain the device safely.

About the Device
The CRANEVIEW™ line of products is designed to be installed on cranes as an IoT device. These products provide continuous data to the associated software platform and, after advanced analysis, give construction managers and workers valuable insights and reports.

Load Limitations
This device should only be used for the purpose and in the manner described in this manual. If you use this device in a manner other than that for which it was intended, unpredictable behavior could ensue with possible hazardous consequences.
The load limit rating, a.k.a. capacity, indicates the maximum force or load the device can carry under normal working conditions. Overloading or placing a load on the device above its rated capacity is dangerous and, therefore, STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
Damages
Do not use a damaged device. We recommend that the device and accessories be inspected daily before starting the work. In case of actual or possible damage, the device should be removed, and Versatile should be informed immediately.

Getting Started
Assigned Personnel
The customer will hold a list of authorized, certified riggers for the installation and handling of the device. Such riggers shall have been trained in the device’s use and shall have read and reviewed this manual.
Unpacking
To avoid personal injury, always use two persons to lift and carry this device, as shown in the image below
Follow the checklist below, and if any nonconformity occurs, please report it to Versatile.
- Inspect the received packages for external shipping damage
- Verify that the printed record of the final performance is included.
- Carefully remove the box’s top cover and check for internal shipping damage.
- Inspect the device’s exterior to ensure all components are in good shape and adequately seated.
- Check the connectors of the various internal wiring harnesses to ensure they are firmly and properly seated. (See reference #3: Connectors and Wiring).
Initial Setup
Battery Setup
The three device batteries provided may only have a 25% charge and could be operated immediately. At the outset, the battery lifespan will be shorter than expected. Versatile recommends charging the spare battery immediately, with the best practice to charge all three batteries thoroughly before device usage.
The connectors are military-graded and are adjustable with a notch-to-notch fit. Carefully connect the charger connector with the battery connector.
Installing Batteries
Step #1 - Remove four (4) Star Grips and open battery covers 1 & 2
Step #2 - Verify batteries are not depleted by pushing the indicator button. Each fully charged battery lasts up to five days. Combined the two batteries provide up to 10 days of run time
Step #3 - Connect Battery 1 and Battery 2. There is a battery connection cable for each battery.
Step #4 - Close each battery lid and fasten the four (4) star grips until secure.
On-Hook Installation
To avoid personal injury, always use two persons to install the device on the crane hook.
Load Cell Calibration
After placing the device assembly on the hook, Versatile suggests picking a load with a known weight and recording the time of pick. Communicate this load weight and pick time to the Versatile support team at support@versatile.ai.
Post-Implementation
Battery Care
Once the battery is replaced successfully, a message will be sent to notify the designated person of the successful battery replacement. Battery replacement can be performed while the device is rigged on the hook or after the device is unrigged from the hook.
Routine Inspections
The customer shall immediately remove the device and all accessories from service as a result of any damage or defects identified as part of frequent, periodic, or additional inspections and notify Versatile accordingly.
Troubleshooting Instructions
Software Troubleshooting
In general, all software troubleshooting will be done remotely by Versatile. Some troubleshooting activities may require field assistance from authorized personnel.
